3-Time National Flatpicking Guitar Champion, author and teacher Steve Kaufman returns for his 11th Annual Guitar and Mandolin Workshops at Down Home Guitars as well as a Saturday Night Performance with Chicago’s own Mandolin Virtuoso Don Stiernberg.
ALL LEVEL 2 DAY FLATPICKING GUITAR WORKSHOP
Friday November 1st 7-9pm and Saturday November 2nd 9:30am-3:30pm $100
Acoustic Guitar Magazine’s Reader’s Poll Gold Award Winning event. The 2 day workshop will last approximately 8 hours. At the two hour session Friday night Steve will get to know each student. He will answer questions, give pointers, and evaluate each students strengths and weaknesses. From Friday’s observations and questionnaire, he will tailor the next day’s session for the group. The 5-6 hour Saturday session will cover core picking skills and techniques, repertoire and building blocks for growth.
INTERMEDIATE/ ADVANCED FLATPICKING GUITAR WORKSHOP
Sunday November 3rd 9:30am-12pm $50
Steve will conduct his 2nd Annual Award Winning Intermediate-Advanced Flatpicking Workshop. This workshop concentrates on figuring out the fingerboard, chord substitutions, new songs and much more. No beginner questions will be answered. Student should have completed Steve’s 2 Day All Level Workshop, or use your own discretion.
MANDOLIN WORKSHOP
Sunday November 3rd 1pm-3:30pm $50
Steve will conduct his Award Winning Beginner-Intermediate Mandolin Workshop. He will cover fingerings, new songs, how to learn new songs, learning by tab and by ear, chords from basic to intermediate forms and see how they move around the fingerboard. He will also cover chops, timing, notes etc…
